A new concrete path has been added to the river end of the new track which allows easy access from the river track on to the Criterium circuit.

The Belmont Criterium Track was officially opened yesterday. Geelong Mayor John Mitchell, councillor Bruce Harwood, and South Barwon MP Michael Crutchfield were in attendance, along with many members of the Geelong Cycling Club, the Geelong Veterans Cycling Club and the wider cycling community.
V/Line has announced that they will be running a number of extra express services to transport spectators to the upcoming UCI World Road Cycling Championships in Geelong. The extra services will run between Melbourne and Geelong with a total of 13 extra services on October 2nd for the womens road race and 42 extra services…
A new section of road has been completed in Eastern Park to create new possibilities for criterium races. The road links Hearne Parade with the existing Eastern Park circuit. The short steep climb of the link will make for a more challenging course. See the COGG media release for more information.
The Victorian Government has announced a $500,000 grant for the first stage of the Geelong Home of Cycling. The announcement can be found here.
