Super Tuesday, the annual visual cyclist count, is on this Tuesday.

Wednesday October 12th is Ride to Work Day 2011. Join the 1000s of others who will ride their bike to work on Wednesday, many of who doing it for the first time.
An excellent article on the place of bicycles on our roads from the ABC:
http://www.abc.net.au/environment/articles/2011/09/08//3312420.htm
This dangerous intersection of Batten Road and Barwon Heads should be fixed, the gravel covers the bike lane and forces cyclists into the high speed traffic lane.
Vicroads believes control of the gravel is a CoGG responsibility but does sweep the road shoulders each month.
The BUG has raised this issue with CoGG seeking to fix this dangerous intersection, have the gravel removed and the shoulder restored to a suitable condition for use by cyclists.
after our meeting with Vicroads the temporary path promised has been delivered. This new path will allow cyclists who wish to keep off the roads to access the Waurn Ponds Creek Trail from the Barwon River Trail with a minimum of on road riding.
Site preparation works have commenced for this new bridge; at meetings with Vic Roads we have been advised that the paths around the river will remain open throughout construction, if works impinge upon the path a temporary path must be laid around the works.
