Otway Classic Saved

The 2010 Ford Otway Classic will take place on November 7th this year after being cancelled in 2009.  The bike ride, which takes in the Otway Ranges and the Great Ocean Road, has been run since 1980 by the Geelong Touring Cyclists, but was cancelled last year due to increased traffic management costs.

The organising of the ride has now been taken over by United Way with support from Ford as the naming rights sponsor.  It is hoped that the event will raise $100,000 for the United Way charities.

The 137km ride starts at Moriac Reserve and is limited to 1000 riders.  The entry fee of $130 includes a jersey for the event.  Entry is via the United Way website.
