The City of Greater Geelong is conducting a survey about shared trails in the Geelong region. You can access the survey on the COGG website.  (Update: the survey is no longer available) Survey responses can be entered up until March 26th.

2010 Amy’s Ride

On January 3rd, 2500 cyclists took part in Amy’s Ride in support of support of safer interaction between cyclists and motorists. Participants completed 1km, 27km, 60km or 120km rides starting and finishing at Eastern Park in Geelong. Media coverage can be found on The Geelong Advertiser.

The Great Victorian Bike Ride concluded in Geelongs Eastern Park on Sunday December 6th after winding its way along the western Victorian coast. Alcoa Workshop

Bicycle Users Geelong has run a bicycle commuting workshop at the Alcoa Point Henry plant on behalf of Greening Australia. On Wednesday October 14th, Allan Marshall and Mark Boyanton discussed bicycle commuting safety, equipment and maintnenance tips with Alcoa employees attending the workshop.

Ride to Work Day 2009

Wednesday October 14th saw many Geelong residents take part in the 2009 Ride to Work Day. The City of Greater Geelong is put on a breakfast and entertainment for participants at the City Hall Forecourt. A new section of road has been completed in Eastern Park to create new possibilities for criterium races. The road links Hearne Parade with the existing Eastern Park circuit. The short steep climb of the link will make for a more challenging course. See the COGG media release for more information.
