after our meeting with Vicroads the temporary path promised has been delivered. This new path will allow cyclists who wish to keep off the roads to access the Waurn Ponds Creek Trail from the Barwon River Trail with a minimum of on road riding.
Site preparation works have commenced for this new bridge; at meetings with Vic Roads we have been advised that the paths around the river will remain open throughout construction, if works impinge upon the path a temporary path must be laid around the works.

The new plan from the City of Greater Geelong for the Northern Section of the Swanston Street Bike Link is now available for community feedback. The plan, which covers the section of Swanston Street North from McKillop Street, features almost exclusively one-way bike paths adjacent to existing footpaths.
A new concrete path has been added to the river end of the new track which allows easy access from the river track on to the Criterium circuit.

The Belmont Criterium Track was officially opened yesterday. Geelong Mayor John Mitchell, councillor Bruce Harwood, and South Barwon MP Michael Crutchfield were in attendance, along with many members of the Geelong Cycling Club, the Geelong Veterans Cycling Club and the wider cycling community.
