The 2010 Ford Otway Classic will take place on November 7th this year after being cancelled in 2009. The bike ride, which takes in the Otway Ranges and the Great Ocean Road, has been run since 1980 by the Geelong Touring Cyclists, but was cancelled last year due to increased traffic management costs.

A new Parkiteer bike storage cage has been installed at the Marshall railway station as part of a station upgrade. The cage provides secure undercover parking for upto 30 bikes.
Work has started on creating a shared path on the Moorabool Street bridge. This will be achieved by widening the footbath on the Western side of the bridge. It is hoped that this will provide a useful link between the shared trails on both sides of the Barwon River.
The City of Greater Geelong has proposed the use of on street bike lanes instead of Copenhagen style lanes on the Swanston Street development. The on street lanes will be between the parallel parked cars and the regular traffic lane, with a painted divider similar to that shown in the picture.

The Victorian Department of Transport are looking to improve the carriage of bicycles on regional public transport. They have commissioned the Institute for Sensible Transport to carry out a technical evaluation of the current situation and suggestions for improvement.
