A reminder of why we are here

A tragedy struck today… A young boy was killed while riding to school in Corio.

This is a sickening reminder of why Bicycle Users Geelong is here, and why we need to work even harder to improve safety for all bike riders. Better conditions for riders won’t always prevent shocking accidents like this happening, but while vulnerable road users mix with heavy vehicles this is an ever present danger and our job won’t be done.

Bicycle users Geelong are not blaming the driver for this terrible accident. Our thoughts are with the friends and family of the child and bus driver.
